Obverse Design: Gymnast performing in front of American Flag,  Reverse Design: Olive branch crossing Olympic Torch Condition: Uncirculated Date: 1992 Mint: Philadelphia “P” Diameter: 1.205 + 0.003 inches Composition: 8% nickel, 92% copper Weight: 11.340 + 0.454 grams     

THE DESIGNERS SILVER ONE DOLLAR COIN

Obverse Designer: John R. Deecken. A life-long illustrator and designer, John R.Deecken produces illustrations and graphics for several national magazines and corporations. This Fairfield, Connecticut resident divides his time between computerized art and hands-on drawing, utilizing the best of both worlds in his work. Reverse Designer: Marcel Jovine. One of America's most respected metallic sculptors, Mr. Jovine's work includes the 1987 U.S. Constitution Gold Five Dollar Coin and the reverse of the 1988 Olympic Gold Five Dollar Coin. This Italian-born artist is none of only thirty-two sculptors who have been honored with the prestigious J. Sanford Saltus Award for life achievement in the metallic arts.

CLAD HALF DOLLAR COIN Obverse Designer: William C. Cousins. A member of the Engraving Staff of then United States Mint, Mr. Cousins studied advertising design and art at the Philadelphia Museum College of Art. His most recent work for the Mint includes the obverse portrait for the Laurance S. Rockefeller Congressional Gold Medal and the reverse of the H. Norman Schwarzkopf medal. Reverse Designer: Steven M. Bieda. A self-taught artist who enjoys working in various media, Mr. Bieda describes his art as an avocation and credits his artistic development to “researching methods and styles, and a lot of practice.” This Warren, Michigan native developed his interest in numismatics out of his varied interests in history and sculpture.
